Panthers WR Steve Smith missed practice Monday morning because of a concussion he sustained in the team’s preseason opener on Saturday.
Head coach John Fox said he’s day-to-day.
Sources told PFW that doctors put Smith through medical tests on Sunday, but he did not pass them. He is due to undergo the tests again Wednesday or Thursday and won’t practice until then.
Smith is suspended from Carolina’s first two regular-season games for breaking the nose of teammate CB Ken Lucas during practice Aug. 1.
