Panthers sign rookie TE Barnidge

The Panthers signed TE Gary Barnidge, a fifth-round pick out of Louisville, on Tuesday. He is the second of the team’s nine draft picks to sign.
Barnidge is a sure-handed target and he’s able to make tough grabs in traffic because of his high level of concentration. He could become a valuable red-zone target for Carolina, but will need to add more bulk and athleticism.
The Panthers also announced they have waived FB Breyone Evans, CB Cortney Grixby and WR Damon Morton, who were all signed as undrafted rookie free agents on May 2.
