Falcons reach agreement with rookie OT Baker
July 26, 2008
The Falcons signed the last of their draft choices Friday evening, reaching an agreement with first-rounder Sam Baker. The contract is for five years, with about $8 million in guaranteed money, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Baker figures to win Atlanta’s starting OLT job, replacing Wayne Gandy, who was released following last season.
Baker’s signing occurred on the same day that his father, David Baker, announced his resignation as commissioner of the Arena Football League.
In other roster moves, the Falcons signed LB Coy Wire and CB Blue Adams, both of whom have NFL experience.
