The Falcons waived second-year TE Martrez Milner on Tuesday, the team announced in a statement.
Milner, a fourth-round pick in 2007, played in eight games last season before he was placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury. He made two starts and had nine catches for 50 yards as a rookie, but did not appear in either of the Falcons' first two games this season.
Atlanta will move forward with starter Ben Hartsock and backup Justin Peelle at tight end.
