League still not ready to reinstate Favre

It looks like the NFL has decided to table its determination on Brett Favre’s request for reinstatement back into the league for yet another day.
“The Packers and Brett are continuing their discussions,” league spokesman Randall Liu said in an e-mail to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel this afternoon.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s decision to remain on the sideline while the Packers’ powers that be continue their latest dialogue with Favre and his agent, Bus Cook, could be an indication that Favre is becoming more serious about accepting the Packers’ reported 10-year, $20 million offer to remain retired in favor of a lifetime role with the franchise that would not involve playing.
In the meantime, the Packers are back in action on the playing field after having Thursday off. Two practices were on tap today, with one practice scheduled for Saturday and a walk-through Sunday before an intrasquad scrimmage Sunday evening.
