Lions lose backup CB Wilson for season

Lions CB Stanley Wilson has been lost for the season with an Achilles tendon injury suffered in the team’s Thursday-night win over the Giants.
Last season Wilson started the first five games but eventually was placed on injured reserve on Nov. 28 with a knee injury.
Wilson started 9-of-32 games during his first three seasons with the Lions, recording 63 tackles. He had been expected to vie for a backup CB role this season.
