Brennan agrees to terms with Redskins

The Redskins and QB Colt Brennan, a sixth-round pick this spring, agreed to terms on a four-year deal, leaving only the team’s top two draft picks, WR Devin Thomas and TE Fred Davis, unsigned.
Assuming the record-setting former Hawaii standout can harness his occasional wildness and show he can learn the Redskins’ West Coast system, Brennan has a good chance to make the roster this fall. The team last week released QB Sam Hollenbach, thought to be Brennan’s biggest competition for the No. 3 job, and now have four quarterbacks on the roster — starter Jason Campbell, heralded backup Todd Collins, former practice-squadder Derek Devine and Brennan.
According to Nolan Nawrocki in PFW’s 2008 Draft Preview, Brennan “went from 185 pounds at the Senior Bowl to 207 at the Combine, raising red flags. Has excelled in a system tailor-made to his talents but does not have the mental makeup, toughness or intangibles desired to achieve at the pro level.”
