All-Pro OG Shawn Andrews has arrived at Lehigh University 17 days after the start of training camp and could join his Eagles teammates on the field for practice soon.
Andrews has been removed from the team’s reserve/did-not-report list and placed on the active/physically-unable-to-perform list. He reportedly has been absent from camp while battling depression issues, but he also might be in less-than-great physical condition.
Head coach Andy Reid considered the absence unexcused, and Andrews told two Philadelphia-area newspapers last week that he has been fined $15,000 per day. Andrews also said, though, that the team could opt to rescind the fines, which total more than $250,000.
Andrews did not speak to the media on Sunday, but he has said that he has sought professional medical help and is on medication to deal with his problems.
