Westbrook, Eagles agree to new contract extension

RB Brian Westbrook believes he’s the best running back in the game, and the Eagles don’t disagree. And now that he’s paid like it, Westbrook appears to be a happy man.
The Eagles announced Friday that they have agreed to terms with Westbrook on a contract extension, but terms of the new deal were not announced.
“As I’ve said many times, I believe Brian Westbrook is the best running back in football,” head coach Andy Reid said. “He can do it all from that position, whether it’s running, catching the football or blocking. He is true professional and leader on and off the field and it’s a great deal for both Brian and the Eagles organization.
“I’d like to give credit to Joe Banner, [Westbrook’s agent] Todd France and Brian for working so diligently in getting this deal done. We look forward to Brian having a great 2008 season and beyond.”
