Reports: Shockey traded to New Orleans for draft picks

Jeremy Shockey to the Saints wasn't dead after all.
According to multiple sources, Shockey, the Giants' controversial tight end who reportedly had an altercation with GM Jerry Reese this offseason, has been traded to the Saints for two draft picks, a second- and a fifth-rounder next year.
Shockey must pass a physical, and the deal has to be reviewed by the league, as all trades are.
The Giants had attempted to trade Shockey before the draft, and a deal nearly was struck right up until the Saints chose with the 40th pick (they took Indiana CB Tracy Porter instead).
The teams continued talking this summer, and when Jason Taylor was traded from Miami to the Redskins yesterday, the Giants moved forward with a deal with the Saints. The Giants, Dolphins and Saints reportedly had discussed a three-way trade involving Taylor, Shockey and draft picks. With Taylor out of the mix, the teams reverted back to a similar deal to what they had discussed in April.
