Broncos WR Brandon Marshall met with commissioner Roger Goodell on July 18, according to a Denver Post report. Accompanying Marshall during the reported 2½ hour meeting were his attorney, Harvey Steinberg, and former Broncos WR Rod Smith.

The purpose of the gathering was to discuss Marshall’s off-field behavior, which has led the Broncos' star receiver to be arrested and cited by police several times in the past two years.

Goodell reportedly is expected to announce whether or not he will suspend Marshall next week and for how long, should he decide to punish him.

Marshall is due in court to stand trial for DUI on Sept. 16.
