Multiple media outlets are reporting that WR Chad Johnson will miss the Bengals' third preseason game Saturday against New Orleans after spraining his shoulder in Cincinnati's Sunday-night loss to Detroit.
Johnson landed on his left shoulder during the Bengals' first offensive series of the game after attempting to catch a pass that was subsequently intercepted by Lions CB Brian Kelly.
"I would conservatively say he's not going to play Saturday night," Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis told The Cincinnati Enquirer. "I think he should be ready for the opener (Sept. 7 at Baltimore). But it's just going to be time on task. He has to gain the strength in the shoulder and how he feels.”
Adam Schefter of the NFL Network is reporting that Johnson will miss the rest of the preseason.
