The Bengals didn’t miss with the No. 1 overall pick in 2003. Palmer struggled somewhat in ’07, but he’s the focal point of an offense that has had to carry the team. That said, the Bengals’ drafts are marked by plenty of swings and misses, especially when it comes to drafting on defense. Also, the team’s decision to take character risks in ’05 and ’06 still haunts the club and has hurt its depth.
