By PFW staff
Sept. 7, 2008
Things got off to an rocky start in Foxborough for the Patriots as QB Tom Brady left the field with a left knee injury. Brady, who was nursing a sore foot entering the contest, clutched his knee on the ground after Chiefs S Bernard Pollard knocked him to the ground on an inside blitz.
Upon his departure, the Patriots inserted four-year pro Matt Cassel into the lineup. On the ensuing series, Cassel led the team on a 98-yard TD drive, culminating in TD pass from Cassel to WR Randy Moss early in the second quarter.
Brady was taken to the locker room for X-rays and his return is questionable.
