Patriots sign veteran Flynn for O-line depth

The Patriots’ growing concern over the health and potency of its offensive line prompted them to add yet another veteran. On Thursday, the team announced the signing of Mike Flynn, last seen as the Ravens' starting center in 2007. Flynn started 115 games in his 10-year career in Baltimore (1998-2007) before being cut in February. The Springfield, Mass., native will battle for a roster spot on the interior of New England’s line.
Injuries to starting ORG Steve Neal and starting OLT Matt Light have put kinks into the Pats’ offensive plans. The line was sensational for much of the 2007 season, but was abused by the Giants’ speedy defensive front in the Super Bowl.
To make room for Flynn, the Pats released reserve CB Ade Jimoh.
