The Jets have re-signed CB Hank Poteat after releasing him Aug. 30. Coach Eric Mangini has reportedly not been happy with the play of nickel back Drew Coleman, and Poteat’s consistency is looked on as a strength for a club looking for defensive stability. Mangini coached Poteat in New England as well as New York. Poteat has played in 81 career games in eight seasons, making 17 starts for the Jets, Patriots, Bucs and Steelers.

To make room on the roster, the Jets waived OL Will Montgomery. The Jets host the Cardinals at the Meadowlands this Sunday.
