Dolphins officially make Jake Long the No. 1 pick

After a week of negotiations, the Dolphins officially signed OT Jake Long as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2008 draft. According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, the deal is for five years and $57.5 million, with $30 million guaranteed. Dolphins hire Tony Sparano as head coach

What had been speculated for weeks became official Wednesday morning. Tony Sparano has been hired as the new head coach of the Dolphins. Sparano has been with the Cowboys for the past five seasons, serving as TE coach from 2003-04, OL/running game coordinator in 2005, assistant head coach/offensive line/running game coordinator in 2006 and assistant head coach/offensive line this past season.
