Hall of Fame finalists announced

The Pro Football Hall of Fame has announced the 17 finalists who will be considered for election into the Hall as members of the Class of 2008.
Two first-year eligible players, Cris Carter and Darrell Green, and two senior-committee nominees, Marshall Goldberg and Emmitt Thomas, will be joined by 12 other modern-day players and one contributor. The Hall’s Board of Selectors meets in Phoenix on Feb. 2 to vote for this year’s class.
To be elected, a finalist must receive a minimum positive vote of 80 percent.
The finalists are listed below in alphabetical order:
