Dominic Rhodes is heading back to Indianapolis. Rhodes spent one season with the Raiders before being released shortly after they drafted Arkansas RB Darren McFadden last month. He signed a one-year deal with the Colts late Wednesday. Rhodes spent the first six years of his career with the club. He was the starting running back for the Colts during the 2006 season, but lost the job to Joseph Addai in the playoffs as the squad made its run to the Super Bowl title.
Wednesday, May 7
The Raiders have signed FA LB Edgerton Hartwell, according to reports. Hartwell, a seven-year veteran, was released by the Bengals prior to the 2007 season and sat out all of last year. He bolsters Oakland's depth behind the standout tandem of MLB Kirk Morrison and SLB Thomas Howard.

Giants OLT David Diehl has signed a new six-year, $31 million contract, according to an ESPN.com report. Fresh off a Super Bowl title, Diehl was rewarded for a standout first season as the protector of QB Eli Manning's blind side. Diehl moved from left guard to tackle after Luke Petitgout signed with the Bucs last offseason.
