Colin Kaepernick is the new face of Nike's 30th-anniversary "Just Do It" campaign, which includes his picture above the following message: "Believe in Something. Even if it means sacrificing everything."
It's a powerful message and a bold decision by Nike, the official apparel sponsor of the NFL, which Kaepernick is suing for collusion.
Nike wouldn't make this type of move without knowing full well it opens the company up to the wrath of everyone from fans that oppose players protesting social injustice and police brutality during the national anthem to president Donald Trump.
And what was long thought to be the ultimate longshot — Kaepernick proving that at least two NFL teams colluded to keep him out of the NFL over the past season-plus — he scored an important victory last week that takes his grievance closer to trial.
