The Redskins have signed restricted free-agent TE Logan Paulsen to a three-year contract, a source tells the Washington Post.
The 26-year old Paulsen, signed as an undrafted free agent by Washington in 2010, took advantage of increased playing time following Fred Davis' Achilles injury last season, setting career-highs in catches (25) and yards (308).
With Davis becoming an unrestricted free agent next week, Paulsen appears to be in line for a larger workload once again in 2013.
The Redskins' cap situation — $18 million in the hole because of fines by the NFL for Wasington's spending during the uncapped year, in 2010 —, expect more under-the-radar signings like Paulsen from the Redskins, rather than the usual glitzy (and often puzzling) signings owner Dan Snyder is notorious for making.
