The Dolphins used their franchise tag on one of their several key free agents Monday, tagging DT Randy Starks, according to multiple reports.
OT Jake Long, WR Brian Hartline, CB Sean Smith and RB Reggie Bush are all set to hit the free-agent market.
Starks, 29, has not missed a game since joining the Dolphins in 2008 and has started all but one game over the past four seasons. Last season, he had 27 tackles, 4½ sacks and four passes defensed. In nine NFL seasons, Starks has 32½ sacks, 18 passes defensed and four interceptions.
Starks entered the NFL in 2004 as a third-round pick by the Titans. He has missed four games in his nine-year career.
