A jury found Patriots CB Alfonzo Dennard guilty of assaulting an officer and resisting arrest, stemming from an April 21 incident in Lincoln, Neb.

The assault on an officer is a felony. The jury found Dennard not guilty of third-degree assault of a 22-year-old Lincoln man.

According to the Lincoln Journal Star, Dennard will be sentenced April 11 and faces as much as six years in prison.

The Patriots drafted Dennard in the seventh round last April — the assault occurred a week before the draft, knocking Dennard’s stock down. He played in 10 games with seven starts in the regular season and had 35 tackles, seven passes defensed and three picks. Dennard started both the Patriots’ playoff games.
