Buccaneers DE Da’Quan Bowers was arrested Monday at LaGuardia Airport for illegally carrying a handgun, according to NBC New York.

Bowers reportedly had a loaded .40 caliber firearm in his carry-on bag. He was set to board a flight to Raleigh. The third-year pro was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Bowers played in 10 games last season (zero starts) and had 13 tackles and three sacks after beginning the year on the physically-unable-to-perform list. Bowers played in every game with six starts as a rookie in 2011.
