The Broncos hired former Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Knapp as their quarterbacks coach, the team announced Friday.
“Greg is a proven, experienced coach with a very impressive background working with quarterbacks,” said head coach John Fox. “He’s had success with Pro Bowlers and established players while also being instrumental in the development of younger quarterbacks. I’ve coached against him for a number of years and have a lot of respect for him. We are pleased to add someone of his caliber to our coaching staff."
Knapp will enter his 19th season coaching in the NFL. Prior to re-joining the Raiders, he was the Texans’ offensive coordinator from 2010-11. Knapp has been the offensive coordinator for the Seahawks (2008), Raiders (2007-08), Falcons (2004-05) and 49ers (2001-03).
The last time Knapp was quarterbacks coach was with the Niners from 1998-2000. He replaces Adam Gase, who was promoted to offensive coordinator after Mike McCoy was hired by the Chargers.
