With PK Steve Hauschka hurting, the Seahawks signed veteran Ryan Longwell, ESPN’s Ed Werder first reported.
Longwell won Seattle’s kicking tryout on Tuesday. A veteran of 15 NFL seasons, Longwell has not kicked this year.
Last season, Longwell made 22-of-28 field-goal attempts for the Vikings and 38-of-39 extra points. He has a career field-goal percentage of 83.2.
Hauschka made three field goals in Seattle’s wild-card win over the Redskins, but injured his left calf in the first half. P Jon Ryan handled kickoff duties. Hauschka was 24-of-27 on field goals during the regular season. Seattle confirmed the Longwell signing on Wednesday and placed Hauschka on injured reserve.
The Seahawks travel to Atlanta to play the Falcons in the divisional round on Sunday.
