The Seahawks signed DE Patrick Chukwurah on Wednesday and placed DE Chris Clemons on injured reserve.
Clemons tore his ACL in Sunday’s wild-card win over the Redskins.
Chukwurah, 33, is a seven-year NFL veteran, but he has not played in a game since 2007 and last was on an NFL roster in December 2008 with the Buccaneers. He appeared in nine games for the Bucs that season and had 12 tackles and one sack.
The 6-1, 250-pound Chukwurah has previously spent time with the Broncos and Vikings as well, and has 81 career tackles and nine sacks.
He led the United Football League in sacks two years in a row, and reportedly beat out Aaron Maybin, Ray Edwards and Travis LaBoy in a tryout.
