Ravens ILB Ray Lewis won’t be out of the spotlight very long.

According to Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated, Lewis is close to signing a multi-year contract with ESPN. He would have a “significant” role on Monday Night Countdown.

Lewis confirmed on Wednesday that he will retire after the playoffs. The 17-year veteran has not played since injuring his triceps in Week Seven, but could play in Sunday’s wild-card game against the Colts.

Per the report, one of Lewis’ requirements when meeting with networks was flexibility in his schedule so he could attend his son’s football games. Lewis’ son, Ray Lewis III, will be a freshman at the University of Miami next year.
