Judge David Doty ruled in favor of the NFL in the NFLPA’s claim of collusion.
The players’ union claimed the league colluded in the uncapped season of 2010 to have a secret salary cap.
The NFLPA had agreed to cap penalties for the Redskins and Cowboys, reportedly in exchange for an increased 2012 salary cap. Those penalties were for Washington and Dallas front-loading contracts in 2010.
"The NFLPA released the claims it attempts to assert. Therefore, the court is without jurisdiction & denies petition to reopen,” Doty stated, according to league spokesman Greg Aiello.
The league had argued that the new Collective Bargaining Agreement ended all litigation, and Doty agreed.
