The Jaguars announced Friday that they have placed RB Maurice Jones-Drew on injured reserve with a foot injury and signed rookie DT Jerome Long off the Chiefs' practice squad. Jones-Drew missed nine games after injuring his foot at Oakland on Oct. 21.
The 6-4, 285-pound Long was a seventh-round pick of the Chiefs in the 2012 draft and spent the first 15 games on the club’s practice squad. He was a four-year letterman at San Diego State.
Mularkey announced on Friday afternoon that Jones-Drew was scheduled to have foot surgery in Charlotte.
