Raiders QB Carson Palmer suffered cracked ribs and a bruised lung in Sunday's loss to the Panthers and will not play in the team’s regular-season finale.
Head coach Dennis Allen told reporters Monday that Palmer went to the hospital and stayed overnight for observation.
Allen said the team will go with either Matt Leinart or Terrelle Pryor in Week 17 against the Chargers.
Palmer’s first full season with the Raiders ends with 4,018 passing yards, 22 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Leinart replaced Palmer on Sunday and completed 16-of-32 passes for 115 yards and one interception. Pryor completed one pass for five yards. He has two career pass attempts.
