The Dolphins claimed CB Dimitri Patterson and placed TE Charles Clay on injured reserve.
The Browns waived Patterson on Monday. In seven games and four starts this season, he has 28 tackles and five passes defensed. The sixth-year veteran played in 14 games last season and all 16 in 2010 with the Eagles, when he had four picks.
Clay, a second-year pro, had 18 catches for 212 yards in two touchdowns this season. He played in 14 games with nine starts.
