The Redskins’ passing game hit the skids a bit at times when Pierre Garcon missed six games, and his return to the lineup has been a welcome sight. He can haul in short, intermediate or long passes and still gain yards after the catch. Although Garcon’s hands can be inconsistent, he can separate from coverage extremely well and dictate how teams play their safeties against the Redskins, which is a huge boost to the run game.

But others are stepping up around Garcon. Josh Morgan hasn’t been nearly the deep threat he was in San Francisco but has been a moderately consistent chain mover.

Leonard Hankerson had a strong game in Week 14 and has shown he can get open against zone coverage, able to sit down and find the soft spots. His hands might not be reliable, but he is more of a trusted option now.

Santana Moss is a key part of the mix who still can run. He seldom sees press coverage when he’s in the slot or in motion. That allows him free releases so he can pivot quickly into open spaces. Aldrick Robinson has been an occasional deep weapon when active. It’s a group that has been rounding into form, even if there are some shortcomings to the passing game.
