Cowboys NT Jay Ratliff underwent surgery for a groin injury on Thursday, the team confirmed. He will miss the rest of the season.

Ratliff only played in six games (all starts) as he also missed time with an ankle injury. In his six games, Ratliff made 16 tackles and one pass defensed.

Prior to this season, Ratliff had started every game for Dallas over the previous four seasons. Sean Lissemore started at nose tackle in last Sunday’s game against the Bengals. Dallas recently brought in DT Brian Schaefering after placing DT Josh Brent on the reserve/non-football injury list.
