The Patriots officially re-signed WR Deion Branch on Wednesday, one day after placing WR Donté Stallworth on injured reserve.
Branch, 33, was released prior to the regular season before joining the team for Week Three. He played in seven games with three starts this season and has nine catches for 90 yards.
The Patriots released Branch following Week 10, reportedly because he was not at 100 percent. Stallworth joined Patriots WR Julian Edelman on I.R. after suffering an ankle injury on his 63-yard touchdown catch in Monday’s win.
Branch becomes the Pats’ third receiver behind Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd.
