Vikings DE Jared Allen was fined $21,000 for his blind-side block on Bears OG Lance Louis, according to Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Allen hit Louis during an interception return. Louis suffered a season-ending ACL injury in his left knee on the play.

Allen told reporters that he thought it was a legal hit. “He’s running to make a tackle, so I just made a block.”

“I think our game could do without that play,” Bears head coach Lovie Smith told reporters on Monday.
