The NFL fined Lions DT Ndamukong Suh $30,000 for his kick to the groin of Texans QB Matt Schaub in last Thursday’s game.

Suh was on the ground after being taken down by a Texans offensive lineman and extended his foot and connected with Schaub below the belt. The league previously announced that it would not suspend Suh for the hit.

On Tuesday when speaking at a Lions charity event, commissioner Roger Goodell said, “Intent is something that is very difficult for us to ever try to make a judgment on."

Suh told reporters Wednesday that the kick was inadvertent.
