Chargers SS Atari Bigby was placed on injured reserve with a groin injury, the team announced Tuesday. Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune first reported that Bigby's injury would keep him out 3-5 weeks.

Bigby, who signed a two-year deal with the Chargers in March, has 68 tackles while starting all 11 games this season. He suffered the injury in Sunday’s loss to the Ravens.

FS Eric Weddle suffered a concussion in the game, but is expected to play in Week 13. Third-round rookie S Brandon Taylor will be active for the first time in his NFL career on Sunday, per the report.

To fill Bigby's roster spot, the Chargers signed LB Bront Bird, who played in nine games for San Diego last season.
