The Steelers placed OT Marcus Gilbert on injured reserve and activated first-round pick OG David DeCastro.
DeCastro began his NFL career on the short-term injured reserve list after tearing his MCL in the preseason. The 24th overall pick in April’s draft, DeCastro was expected to start at right guard prior to the injury.
Gilbert started the first five games of the season before suffering a knee injury against the Titans.
The Steelers also added OL John Malecki to the active roster and released WR David Gilreath. Gilreath played in Sunday’s loss to the Browns and was targeted once.
