The Chiefs placed DE Glenn Dorsey on injured reserve and promoted DB Neiko Thorpe from the practice squad, the team announced Monday in advance of their Week 10 game vs. Pittsburgh.
Dorsey was the fifth overall pick of the 2008 draft. In his 66 games, he has 222 tackles, four sacks, one forced fumble and four fumble recoveries.
In his four starts this season, Dorsey had seven tackles, playing through a calf injury. In the last year of his rookie contract, Dorsey is not expected to re-sign with the Chiefs.
Thorpe is an undrafted rookie out of Auburn. He played on special teams against the Ravens on Oct. 7.
