Bills RB Fred Jackson sustained a concussion in Sunday’s loss to the Patriots. Head coach Chan Gailey said Jackson will not play Thursday night against the Dolphins.
Jackson, who had 16 carries for 80 yards and two rushing touchdowns, along with four catches for 35 yards, was concussed on a hit late in the fourth quarter.
In seven starts this season, Jackson has 298 rushing yards, 183 receiving yards and four touchdowns. C.J. Spiller will start on Thursday and Tashard Choice will be his backup.
The way we see it
While Bills fans clamoring for more snaps for Spiller will get their wish on Thursday, this is still a blow to the Bills’ chances against a tough Dolphins front seven. Jackson is a triple-threat back (runner, receiver, blocker) and an important weapon in a Bills offense that lacks them.
