The Browns placed LB Scott Fujita on injured reserve, head coach Pat Shurmur told reporters Wednesday.
Fujita has been inactive the past two games. In the first four games of the season, Fujita had 14 tackles and one sack.
ESPN reported earlier this month that Fujita might have a career-ending neck injury. Fujita was one of the four players suspended for his alleged role in the Saints’ bounty program. In the latest decision from Roger Goodell, Fujita had his suspension reduced to one game.
Taking Fujita’s spot on the roster is second-year DT Phil Taylor, who returned to practice after starting the season on the physically-unable-to-perform list with a pectoral injury. Shurmur said there is “very little” chance of Taylor playing on Sunday. He had 59 tackles and four sacks starting every game as a rookie last season.
