The Redskins released RB Ryan Grant on Tuesday and brought back RB Keiland Williams.
Grant appeared in only one game for Washington and had a carry for five yards. He spent the past five seasons with the Packers and had 559 yards rushing and 268 yards receiving last season.
Williams played in five games for the Lions this season and had two carries and two catches. He played in 15 games last year in Detroit and had two rushing scores.
In 2010, Williams started three games for the Redskins and finished the season with 570 total yards and five touchdowns. He joins Alfred Morris and Evan Royster in Washington’s backfield.
