Lions WR Nate Burleson broke his right leg in the third quarter of Monday night's game in Chicago and will miss the rest of the season, head coach Jim Schwartz announced following a 13-7 loss to the Bears.
Burleson was hurt on a tackle by Bears CB Tim Jennings after a 16-yard reception. He was helped off the sidelines before being carted to the locker room.
Burleson had totaled 240 yards and two touchdowns on 27 catches in six games this season.
The way we see it
Burleson's absence will put the pressure on young WRs Titus Young and Ryan Broyles in the Lions' passing offense. Young turned in his best production of the season with 81 yards on six catches Monday night, while Broyles made his first three career catches, including a late 12-yard touchdown.
