The Panthers placed CB Chris Gamble on injured reserve, head coach Ron Rivera announced Monday.

Gamble started the first four games of the season before suffering a shoulder injury. He made 15 tackles and two passes defensed in those four games.

Last season in 15 games (all starts), Gamble had 12 passes defensed and three interceptions. He has been with Carolina since entering the league in 2004 and has 27 career picks.

Fourth-year CB Captain Munnerlyn has started in Gamble’s place and has four passes defensed and an interception this season.
