Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew will miss at least this week’s game against the Packers, and maybe more.
Head coach Mike Mularkey said Jones-Drew injured his foot on the first play of Sunday’s loss to the Raiders. He didn’t know specifics, just that Jones-Drew had an injury in the middle of his foot.
In six games this season, Jones-Drew has 86 carries for 414 yards and one touchdown and 14 catches for 86 yards and a score. Rashard Jennings replaced MJD and will likely start in Week Eight. Third-string RB Montell Owens got hurt as well, and Mularkey did not rule out adding a running back this week.
QB Blaine Gabbert, who left Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury, has a “good chance” to play on Sunday after injuring his non-throwing shoulder. If Gabbert cannot go, Chad Henne would start.
