The Browns placed OLG Jason Pinkston on injured reserve and signed OL Jarrod Shaw to the active roster.
Pinkston started the first six games of the season and was inactive in Week Seven. He was rushed to the emergency room last Thursday when doctors found a life-threatening blood clot in his lung.
Pinkston is at the Cleveland Clinic undergoing tests to determine the cause of the clot, according to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.
OG John Greco started in Pinkston’s spot. Shaw spent the first seven weeks of the season on the practice squad.
The Browns also added OL Bryant Browning to the practice squad.
