Redskins TE Fred Davis was carted off the field in Sunday’s game against the Giants with a season-ending Achilles injury. Head coach Mike Shanahan confirmed that Davis tore his Achilles and will miss the rest of the season.

Davis, a fifth-year pro, had 23 catches for 312 yards this season. He had 796 receiving yards in 12 games last season.

The Redskins could bring back veteran TE Chris Cooley. Niles Paul and Logan Paulsen are the team’s top tight ends with Davis out.
