Cardinals QB Kevin Kolb will be out for several weeks after having multiple ribs detach from his sternum, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Kolb also suffered a sprained sternoclavicular joint in his chest area. The injuries occurred late in Sunday’s loss to the Bills.
Kolb took over as the team’s starter when John Skelton went down with an ankle injury in Week One. In his six games and five starts, Kolb has completed 59.6 percent of his passes for eight touchdowns and three interceptions, but he has been sacked 27 times — 22 times in the last three games.
Skelton relieved Kolb on Sunday and completed 2-of-10 passes, throwing one pick. He started seven games last season and four in 2010. Arizona faces the Vikings in Week Seven.
