Colts RB Donald Brown tore cartilage in his knee on the team’s final play in Sunday’s win over the Packers, interim head coach Bruce Arians told reporters Wednesday.

Brown underwent surgery on Tuesday and will be out 2-3 weeks. Rookie Vick Ballard will start against the Jets.

In four starts this season, Brown has 60 carries for 239 yards and a touchdown and three catches for 47 yards. Ballard has 21 carries for 42 yards. The Colts also have second-year RB Delone Carter, who had two rushing TDs last season.
